Paul Walter Rathman, age 78, of Hickory Hills, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Advocate Christ Lutheran Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL. He was born February 27, 1938 in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Margaret nee Schumacher Rathman. Paul proudly served in the US Marine Corp. After his service, he was employed by Employer's Mutual Insurance Company in Oak Brook, IL as an underwriter. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palos Heights, IL. He loved the outdoors, especially tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. Paul was a member of the Oswego Fishing Fools and loved to "tinker" on family cars. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Annette Rathman of Hickory Hills, IL, children Mary (Tony) Dodaro of Paw Paw, IL, Paul "P.J." (Monica) Rathman of Oswego, IL, Lori (John) Donovan of Bloomington, IL, grandchildren Anthony (Jill) Dodaro, Nicholas (Fiancé Tori Hoadler) Dodaro, Jacob and Ryan Rathman, John, Brendan and Addison Donovan. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
