Paul Akis Pelengaris, 69, passed away on March 15, 2022, in Oswego, IL. Paul was born on October 3, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York to Akis and Ann (Denino) Pelengaris. Prior to his retirement, Paul worked in Environmental Engineering and was a part of many of the highway and bridge projects in the Chicagoland area the past twenty-five plus years. He was well liked and respected by colleagues and had a wonderful reputation in the industry. Paul had a passion for music and especially loved attending live concerts with his wife Mary before her passing. He loved talking about the many concerts they attended over the years. Paul also had a passion for food and was a phenomenal cook. He enjoyed cooking Sunday meals and his special "Gravy" for everyone. Paul had a kind and gentle spirit.. He also had a contagious belly laugh that could shake a foundation. Paul loved sharing stories and making those around him laugh. He will be most affectionately remembered as "Grandpa". Paul is survived by his daughter Nicole Patel (Pelengaris), sons Michael (Kristen) Doggett and Brian Doggett, grandchildren Jacob and Riley Doggett and Xyla Doggett, brother Akis Pelengaris and sister Marianne Nichols (Pelengaris). Paul was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Schram), his parents Akis and Ann Pelengaris and his brother Alec Pelengaris. A Memorial Gathering, where all are welcome, will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
