Patricia L. Salfrank, age 78, of Montgomery, IL, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 17, 1937 in Cloquet, MN, the daughter of Leonard O. and Elaine W. "Wanita" nee Smith Lien (Nicely).
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She married her soul mate James "Salty" Salfrank in 1978 and spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 1989.
She was a lover of music, dancing and fun. She sang in choir throughout her high school and college years, even performing for President Eisenhower with the Concordia College Choir. She shared her love with others through her passion of baking. Patricia was a member of the Sweet Adelines chapter in Cloquet, MN in the 1960's. She was also an officer of her TOPS chapter, even serving as treasurer, and WINGS.
She had a keen mind for detail and great organizational skills which allowed her to excel in a variety of work. She spent most of her working years at MetLife and then retired from UHC in 1999. She met regularly with her friends from MetLife until illness prevented her from attending.
Patricia is survived by her children Linda (Todd) Burton of Carmel, IN, Alan Crider of Montgomery, IL, Gwen Petersen of Aurora, IL, grandchildren Stephanie (Mark) Chabura of St. Charles, IL, Jennifer (Josh) Junge of Carmel, IN, Jordan Burton of Carmel, IN, Cooper Burton of Carmel, IN, great-grandchildren Cole, Luke, Reid and Neal Chabura all of St. Charles, IL, and sisters Carol Morse of Apache Junction, AZ, Mary (Chuck) Wohlers of Lawrenceville, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James "Salty" Salfrank, son-in-law Eric Petersen and a brother-in-law Carl Morse.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 2:00 PM until a memorial service at 6:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S.
