Patricia Rae "Patty" Dougherty, age 73, of Sheridan, IL, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. She was born October 24, 1947 in Cairo, IL, the daughter of Edward G. and Mildred H. nee Moore Walters. Prior to her retirement, Patty worked as a records clerk for the Sheridan Correctional Center. Patty was very artistic and loved to paint and refinish her antique finds. She was a fan of Star Wars and took great pride in her home and gardens. She was well known for her elaborate Christmas decorations and for packing them up on Christmas Day. She is survived by her children Wendy (Kevin) Bernard, Matt Woodward, Mark (Marlene) Woodward, grandchildren Tara Jo Bernard (Walter Warpinski), Molly Bernard, sisters Lawanda (Jim) Clutts, Eva (the late great Patrick) Markey, Bobbi (Jeff) Jackson, brother Jake (Dixie) Walters, numerous nieces, nephews, best non sister friend Mary Lou Tomlin, cat Joey, rabbit Rosie and the love of her life, her fiancé Terry "T" Tonielli. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rita Balocchi and Monty Aldridge, four nephews and Dolly the squirrel. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM until a memorial service at 12:00 PM (noon) at Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, 333 W.
