Patricia Ann Coleman ("Pattie"), born August 18, 1944, in Richmond, Virginia, and passed away peacefully at her home in Oswego Illinois on January 5, 2026 surrounded by family. Pattie lived a life marked by joy, a deep steady faith and a never-ending quest for fun.
Pattie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Ann Cilenti Nelson, her father, Herbert Richard Nelson, her beloved husband, Joseph Coleman and her niece Karen Hearne.
She leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Pattie is survived by her children, Colleen Montgomery (Steve) and Jeff Antonelli (Laura); and her stepchildren, Michael Coleman (Laurie), Dan Coleman, and John Coleman.
She was a proud grandmother to Tara Sylvester (Scott), Joe Montgomery, Cole Antonelli, and Parker Antonelli; and a step-grandmother to Charlie Coleman, Alex Coleman, Aiden Coleman, Taylor Coleman, Carmella Coleman, and Andrew Coleman. Pattie was also great grandmother (Gigi) to Norah Sylvester and Mina Sylvester, who brought her immense joy.
Pattie is survived by her siblings: Candace Ashton (David), Sandie Hearne, Richard H. Nelson (Antoinette), Nancy Swantek (Joe), Susan Oei, and Debbie Geiger (Michael). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews—John Hetherington (late Cindy), Richard Nelson, Joseph Swantek (Lisa), Robert Nelson (Jen), Teresa Hansen (Ted), Brittany Lapinski (Rick), Matthew Ashton (Laura), Michael Geiger, and Andrew Geiger—all of whom she loved deeply.
Pattie lived a vibrant life surrounded by friends who adored her. They often recalled how much laughter she brought into every room—how they shared drinks, played games, and sometimes got into a bit of mischief together. Her friendships were full of joy, humor, and unforgettable stories.
Throughout her life, Pattie excelled in many roles, but she was especially proud of her work as an Account Executive for ServiceMaster and her successful career in real estate. Her dedication, talent, and strong work ethic earned her great respect in both fields.
Pattie had a special love for her dogs, all shih tzus, each of whom held a unique place in her heart. She found happiness in gardening, tending to her home and yard, and enjoying many lovely vacation cruises.
Above all, Pattie treasured her family—they were the center of her world.
It is impossible to capture Pattie fully in words. She was sassy, funny, kind, loving, and wonderfully complex. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and strength.
She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
