Olga L. Alvarez (Guerra), passed away in the early morning of June 8, 2026, with her husband by her side. Olga was born on September 26, 1965, the cherished daughter to the late Rodolfo and Elidia Guerra. Olga was an avid reader and loved to travel, craft, shop at TJ Maxx, decorate her home (and her siblings' homes). She was a beloved member of her community where she started a book club and dedicated a Free Library in honor of her dad.

In 1997, Olga married the love of her life Juan D. Alvarez, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage. She was devoted to Juan and to her faith. Through life's many trials, Olga showed everyone around her the meaning of hope and resilience; she demonstrated strength in hardship, grace in suffering, and constant gratitude for family. Until her retirement in July of 2025, Olga's varied talents were exemplified by the multiple roles and responsibilities she assumed in over thirty years of service within both the East Aurora and Indian Prairie school districts.

She is survived by her husband, Juan, sons, Daniel (Shelby) Alvarez of Plano, Illinois, Nicolas (Emily) Alvarez of Morrison, Illinois; her grandchildren, Vada and Zaxton; her beloved dog Pepper, as well as her siblings Martha (Max), Rodolfo (Leticia), Mirthala (Garan), Eduardo (Liz), Esthela and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that Olga's faith carried her safely into the arms of Jesus and is now reunited with loved ones who went before her.

"Well done, my good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21)
