NORMAN B. TOFTOY February 7, 1928 January 14, 2016 Norman B. Toftoy, 87, of Newark passed away Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2016 at Tillers Nursing & Rehabilitation in Oswego. Norman was born February 7, 1928 in Fox Twp. Kendall Co. to Konrad & Anna (Phillips) Toftoy. He was united in marriage February 18, 1950 to Iva Jean Goodwick at the Newark Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army as a tank commander from 1954 – 1956. He retired in 1983 as a shop foreman for the Grey Stamping Co. in Plano. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Iva Jean Toftoy; a brother, Clarence Toftoy of Millbrook; a sister, Eleanor (Bennie) Helland of Morris and many nieces & nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, 4 year old Clarence Toftoy, Orrin Toftoy, Ralph Toftoy and Harold Toftoy; four sisters in-law, Darlene Toftoy, Joan Toftoy, Jane Toftoy and Mary Jane Toftoy. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday January 17th at the Newark Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday with Pastor Luke Emerson officiating at the Newark Lutheran Church. Interment will be at the Sheridan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Toftoy, David Toftoy, Rolf Helland, Roger Toftoy, Robert Toftoy and Trenton Toftoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Monkemeyer, Milford Mikkelson and Rich Fitzgibbons. Memorials may be directed to the donor's wishes. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. in Newark.
