Norma I. (Gleason) Smith, age 94, of Oswego, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Norma Irene Smith was born on October 13, 1921 in Elkhart, IL to Martin and Vedus (Thompson) Gleason. She attended Elkhart High School and graduated in 1939. Norma married Loren Smith on July 5, 1941 and resided in Watseka, IL. During the time they resided in Watseka, IL, Norma worked at a bank. Later they moved to their house in Oswego, IL where Norma became a homemaker. Norma was a volunteer at St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL and was a member of St. Anne's Senior group. Norma enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining friends. Most of all, she loved being with her family. Norma is survived by her husband, Loren Smith; her daughter, Barbara (Rodney) Boeker of Elgin, IL; her grandchildren, Anne (Timothy) Archer of Shorewood, IL, and John (Kelsi) Boeker of Sycamore, IL; and five great grandchildren, Adelai, Benjamin, Charlotte Archer and Conner Boeker. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL 60543. Burial will follow at Risen Lord Cemetery.
