Myra June (Hole) Shumaker passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 16, 2021. She was born October 22, 1927 to Lester and Helen (Savert) Hole in Versailles, Ohio and grew up there with her sister, Barbara Jane (Hole) Mumaw. She graduated from Versailles High School in 1945 as an honor student and member of student senate. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Irvin Shumaker. They were married in The Christian Church in Versailles, Ohio, on January 8, 1949 and lived in Dayton, Ohio for 50 years. Also survived by their daughter, Jill Diane (Shumaker) Ludlam, son-in-law Bob Ludlam and grandchildren John (and Ashley) Ludlam and Krissy (and Mike) Vitello. John and June relocated to Oswego, Illinois in 2000 to be closer to family. June is survived by her sister, Barbara Jane Mumaw, sister in law, Joan Shumaker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She has been preceded in death by her parents, brothers in law, Ralph Mumaw, Owen Shumaker and Dale Shumaker, and sisters in law, Clemontine "Skeet" King and Maida Baker. A gathering of family/friends will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a memorial service at 6:30 PM with Rev Steve Good officiating at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Final internment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles, Ohio at a later date.
