Myrtle A. (Kaufman) Martinson, 88, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 12, 2016. She was born September 13, 1928 in Sandwich, IL. Myrtle devoted her life to the care of others. She worked at West Aurora High School in the cafeteria; Mercy Hospital in Nuclear Medicine and McAuley Manor caring for the Nuns. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Montgomery VFW Post 7452. Myrtle loved bingo, the sunshine and to play in the garden. There was not a God's given flower she did not like. She is survived by her eldest son, Gerald "Marty" (Sandy L.) Martinson and a daughter-in-law Sandra K. Martinson; her siblings, Charles (Laura Haish) Kaufman, Eleanor Kuppler, Jeanie (Ray Raguse) Ness, Marie (Landy) Walker and Ronnie Kaufman; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews which all hold special memories of her in their heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents, Ralph and Tessie (Vermland) Kaufman; a sister, Doris Johnson; four brothers, Paul, Ivan, James and Richard Kaufman; a great grandson and her youngest son, Ron Martinson on December 15, 2015. Marty would like a special recognition to be extended to his cousin, Jill Keller and his wife, for providing physical, emotional and spiritual care in his mother's last months.
