Milton C. Schmidt, age 86, of Aurora, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 06, 2017 at The Grove of Fox Valley in Aurora, IL. He was born February 16, 1930 in Aurora, IL the son of Henry and Maria C. nee Rilling Schmidt. Milton proudly served his country in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. After his service, he worked 47 years in the customer service department of Nicor Gas. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL, the 3rd Ward Club, and played bingo at the Friendly Center & Beecher Center. He loved sports, and excelled at basketball. He was a basketball player while attending East Aurora High School, even going down state in 1947. He played softball with T&R Construction for many years. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years Marell Schmidt of Aurora, IL, children Christina Schmidt of Aurora, IL, David Schmidt of Colorado Springs, CO, Paula (Al) Swanson of St. Charles, IL, grandchildren Nicole Swanson and Kyle Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl, Lawrence, William, Adolph, LaVerne, Donald, Henry, sisters Christina, Elizabeth, Delores and many nieces and nephews. Cremation was performed in accordance to Milton's wishes.
