Michael A. Van Boekel, age 89, of Yorkville, Illinois passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 27, 1936, in Kimberly, Wisconsin to the late Anthony and Blanche Van Boekel.

Mike proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force and later worked at the Federal Aviation Administration in Aurora, Illinois for 25 years. After retiring, he and his wife Jean enjoyed winters in Florida, spending time with his family and playing golf. Mike was generous with his time and talents, always willing to help anyone in any way that he could. He loved life and touched the hearts of everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Frank (Ila) and Jerry (Mary Ann) and his sisters Bernie Robinson, Mary (Armondo) DiFonso and brother-in-law Dennis Baginski.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jean; his sister-in-law, Kathy Baginski; his children, Cheryl (Mike) Soelke of Collierville, TN, Tom (Pam) Van Boekel of Cape Coral, FL, Debbie (Jon) Olson of Charlotte, NC and David (Lisa) Van Boekel of Montgomery, IL; eleven grandchildren, Michael (Alex) Soelke, Keegan (Kasey) Crocker, Kaylee (DJ) Wilemon, Tyler (Jordan) Van Boekel, Cameron (Erica) Van Boekel, Kathryn Van Boekel, Kari (Ryan) Kostolansky, Kyle Olson, Adam (Melissa) Van Boekel, Rachel (Fiancé, Alec) Van Boekel, Sarah Van Boekel; thirteen great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Clark, Scott, Sloane, Conley, Parker, Kinsey, Cade, Cole, Conner, River, Journey as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego. Interment will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL
