Michael L. LaGow, 67, of Oswego, IL died September 18, 2022, at Elmwood Terrace Healthcare Center under Kindred Hospice care in Aurora, IL.

He was born July 1, 1955, in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Delano F. LaGow and Carol Wendling LaGow.

Mike loved music and was a talented musician and drum major who was able to play many instruments with a special fondness for the flute. He was a highly respected member of the Aurora American Legion Band for nearly forty years where he played the piccolo. Mike was especially proud to perform "The Stars and Stripes" in honor of his father who was a veteran.

Following graduation from Oswego High School, Mike graduated from Augustana College with a music education degree. He worked for several years at Lucent Technologies and later at Lantmannen where he made many lasting friendships.

Mike was a member of Boy Scout Troop 31 in Oswego where his father was the Scoutmaster. He gave music lessons to area youth groups and was a long-time member of Church of the Good Shepherd where he also led a youth group.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Del and Carol LaGow, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by two special aunts, Charlotte Flagg of Oswego and Alice Crawford of Yorkville, two special cousins, Karla Reinboldt and Joy Wendt and several aunts, uncles and cousins, many friends including his caregiver, Doug Norman and his beloved dachshund, Hunter.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oswego Township Cemetery with Pastor Steve Good officiating.
