Michael Krestel, age 93, of Aurora, IL, peacefully passed away with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Alden Gardens in Aurora, IL. He was born June 17, 1924 in Romania, the son of Matteau and Sophia nee Morz Krestel. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the German Club, Italian-American Social Club and the Elks Lodge #1968 all in Vista, CA. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Antinette, children Michelle Krestel, Barbara Gentile, Karen Krestel, Mel Krestel, step-children Jennie (Jim) Muldoon, Carl Messina, Santo (Debbie) Messina, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in California.
