Michael A. Costello Age 79 of Montgomery and Normal, IL. at rest peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at AccentCare & Hospice Palliative Care of Illinois, Naperville, IL. following a brief stay in the hospital. Michael was born in Chicago, IL and was raised in St. Charles, IL. He received his BA from Aurora University and a MAE from InterAmerican University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He served as director of the Youth Service Bureau in Bolingbrook, IL, Director of Grundy County Mental Health in Morris, IL and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Employment Services based in North Aurora.

Michael is survived by his wife Karen (nee Shoger) Costello, his daughter, Aimee (Eric) Kirchner, three grandchildren, Gretchen Stanfa, Benjamin Stanfa and Gwendolyn Kirchner and nieces and nephews, Sandra Costello-Lowkewicz, Alyssa Clayton, David Shoger, Beth Novak, Justin Shoger, Marni Barton and Rachel Collins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary (nee Streba) Costello, brothers, Richard (Sue) Costello, and Edward (Sherry) Costello and a nephew, Michael Patrick Costello

A Memorial Gathering for Michael will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until time of service 3:00 P.M. where full military honors will be held under the auspices of the United States Air Force at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S.
