Merna was born on June 4, 1972 in the beautiful country of Jamaica. She attended Portland Cottage Elementary School. She loved, and was very passionate about her home town. She moved to the United States to join her parents Beautilyn and Cleon Forbes in 1988. She then attended Hyde Park Academy High School until she graduated in 1992. Merna became very active in her career path, she held several positions. During that time she had the joy of giving birth to daughter Deja Lewis her wonderful bundle of joy. Merna, later met the love of her life Johnny Carson and was married on June 13, 2009. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Oswego, IL. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, auntie and friend. Merna was very excited about life, she enjoyed every one, and everything about it until the illness overcame her. Merna is survived by her daughter: Deja Lewis. Husband: Johnny Carson. Parents: Beautilyn Forbes, Cleon Forbes and Alva Reader (biological father) Siblings: Vanessa, Nadene, Durell, Yolanda, Danika and Tanisha. Other siblings: Tesha, Marlon, Shane and Kirk. Nieces: Amanda, Jenelle, Aniyah, Elizabeth, Alanah, and Leilani. Nephews: Jeffery, Cheldon, Donte, Noel Jr and Richard Jr. A very special thank you to her Uncle Desmond! Visitation will be at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2:00 – 6:00P.M. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park.
