Maureen T. Robertson (nee Thomas) age 82, aka Trapper Mo, of Montgomery, IL., passed away peacefully at home, on August 21st, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Maureen had a compassionate heart that was capable of great kindness. She was an avid sports enthusiast that could always be found rooting boisterously for her Chicago Cub and Chicago Bears. She enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and caring for the birds. She loved her family and friends immensely and preferred to b surrounded by them. She had fun traveling the country and was happiest near the water with a pole in her hand.

Although she had a tight budget, she was a giver. Offering long time donations to St. Jude's and Shriners hospitals and helping out a friend in need, while her family and friends were her pride and joy.

She had an enormous passion and an intense dedication for supporting our nation's veterans and those in her community. She volunteered for many different organizations throughout the years and spent countless volunteer hours helping Veterans and the homeless population in her community. She was an Executive Director for her beloved Veterans Smile Program" a national nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization in Montgomery, IL. She was a Chartered member of the American Legion Auxiliary to Post 1944 in Aurora, IL. as well as an Auxiliary member of the VFW Auxiliary to Post 7452 in Montgomery, IL.

Maureen is survived by her siblings Bert Thomas, Terry Patti, Lani Dunfee, and Cindy Rose, Brother-in-law Gary Murphy and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Bert and Ernistine Thomas and her sister Regina Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veteran's Smile Program, a non-profit agency dear to Maureen's heart.
