Martha A. nee Diehl Hettinger age 87, of Montgomery and Oswego, IL went home to Lord on September 14, 2026.

She was born January 27,1939 in Naperville, IL, the daughter of Clarence M. and Mary B. (nee Barry) Diehl. Martha married Robert "Bob" on September 16,1961 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville.

She graduated from Madonna High School in 1957. She was employed for many years by Oswego School District 308 in the cafeteria. She retired from Aurora Air Products as the office manager in 2000.

She was proud of her accomplishment of visiting all 50 states. She was a talented seamstress, creating beautiful clothes for her family. She also was an avid quilter, creating quilts for her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake. Her family enjoyed her chocolate chip cookies. Martha loved to watch her children and grandchildren in all their sports, music, theatre, and other activities. She was a caregiver at heart. She was nurturing and welcoming to all she met. Martha was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Gary) Wooley, Steve (Sabrina) Hettinger, Diane (Mark) Bybee. Also survived by grandchildren Brittany (Kevin) Drollinger, Gregory (Ashley) Wooley, Benjamin (Andrea) Wooley, Joseph (Courtney) Bybee, and Connor (Danielle) Bybee, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Evie, Owen, and Violet: sister Pat (the late Don) Beezley and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Robert, three infant children, Mary, Joseph, and Ann Hettinger, her brothers James and Joseph, and sister Mary.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the DUNN Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, Illinois 60543.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the St. Anne Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. (Family asks that everyone join then at the church) 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, Illinois 60543.

Graveside Service to follow at Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martha's name can be made to St Anne Catholic Church in Oswego or the charity of your choice.
