Mark Verda-Fitzgerald passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the age of 26.

He was born on March 20th, 1996, to Kim Verda and Paul Fletcher and later adopted by Doug Fitzgerald.

Mark grew up in the Yorkville, Illinois area and later lived in Neoga on Lake Mattoon. He enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles especially his Jeep and helping on the family farm. Mark had such a big heart and was always helping others.

He is survived by Kim Verda (Eddie Tharp), Paul Fletcher, Doug Fitzgerald (Sheryl Franzen) (Parents) Drake & Dylan Tharp, Ashley (Don) Schultz, Corey Fletcher, Mary (Ryan) Erickson, Elizabeth Franzen and Michael Fitzgerald (Siblings) Carol Kackert, Leonard & Linda Fitzgerald (Grandparents) Robin Verda, Jennifer Verda, John & Sharon Fitzgerald (Uncle & Aunts) Joseph Verda, Matt & Steven Overly, Destiny & Savanna Priebe and Connor & Leah Fitzgerald (Cousins).

Mark was preceded in death by Gene & Mary Verda, Frank Fletcher (Grandparents).

Visitation will be held at lOam to 12pm on Monday, January 30th, 2023 at Gabel Dunn Funeral Home in Newark, IL. with Rev. Jenny Hubbard officiating with a funeral service to follow.

Visitation and funeral will be casual dress in remembrance of Mark's love for his flannel shirts and jeans.
