On Father's Day (June 21, 2026), as his children reflected on the blessing of having such a loving and devoted father, Mark Stallmann was called home to his eternal reward. While his family mourned the loss of a father whose love and presence shaped their lives, Mark experienced the joy of being reunited with his father, Erhart Stallmann, and meeting face to face with the Heavenly Father he faithfully served throughout his life.

Mark was many things to many people: an honorable son, a loving and loyal husband, a present and protective father, a playful and cherished Pop Pop, a dedicated employee, a joyful colleague, a caring neighbor, and a wise and compassionate friend. Yet above all else, Mark was a faithful servant of God who made it his life's mission to share the love of Jesus with everyone he encountered.

To know Mark was to feel seen. He had a remarkable gift for making every person feel valued and important. Whether speaking with a lifelong friend or a complete stranger, Mark offered his full attention, genuine interest, and unwavering kindness. Family outings often included the familiar question, "Where's Dad?" only to find him deep in conversation with an old friend, making a new one, or stopping to pray with someone in need. A quick trip to the grocery store could easily become a three hour adventure because no person was ever an interruption to Mark; they were an opportunity to love.

Mark was known as the fixer of all things. It was often said, "If Pop Pop can't fix it, nobody can." Whether repairing something broken, lending a helping hand, or offering wisdom during life's challenges, people naturally turned to him. He had a servant's heart and quietly carried the burdens of others, always willing to give his time, strength, and encouragement.

Mark found great joy in spending time with family and friends, helping others, fishing, hiking forest trails, taking long walks, and sharing his passion and knowledge from his years at Nicor Gas. Yet nothing brought him greater joy than his relationship with the Lord. His faith was not something he simply spoke about; it was something he lived every day. Through his humility, generosity, and love, he truly embodied what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Though Mark's absence leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, his impact will continue for generations. He leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, humility, service, compassion, and sacrificial love. His children and grandchildren have been given a priceless inheritance, not of possessions, but of example. Because of Mark, they know how to show up for others, how to work hard, how to care deeply, how to do the right thing, and how to love well.

While our hearts ache in his absence, we are grateful for every lesson he taught, every life he touched, and every memory he gave us. We take comfort in knowing that the faith he lived by has become the promise he now experiences.

A memorial service honoring Mark's life will be held at Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego, Illinois, on June 28, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a message of encouragement from Pastor Scott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Harvest New Beginnings Church, a place that brought Mark great joy during his time on Earth.

Mark's work here is complete, but the legacy he built remains. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed. Well done, good and faithful servant!
