Margaret Justine Jahp, of Yorkville, passed away on December 19, 2021. She was born June 22, 1939 in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Merle and Margaret (Webb) Stewart. She graduated from Fairfield High School the class of 1957, then obtained an associate in arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She then graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa with a degree in physical education. She taught physical education at Hall School in Aurora, IL from 1964-1969. She also was a learning center paraprofessional at the Circle Center School in Yorkville and worked at the Yorkville Public Library. She was a member of the Yorkville Congregational Church where she worked on various committees. Justine married Clifford J. Jahp on February 2 1968 at the New England Congregational Church in Aurora. They spent the next 50 plus years together until his move to Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville. They enjoyed traveling to Europe, Snow Birding to Gulf Shores Alabama, playing bridge and pinochle, going to Baseball games and being with friends and family. Nothing brought them more joy than attending their grandchildren's games and school events. After Cliff moved to Meadowbrook, Justine kept busy with her friends and card clubs. Nothing gave her more joy that hosting a luncheon, or a party, or having people staying overnight at her house. She always loved her Christmas baking marathons with her friends and prided herself on how many dozens of cookies she always was able to make year after year. She was proceeded in death by her husband Clifford J. Jahp, her brother Merle (Bud) Stewart and her parents. She is survived by her son Brian (Melinda) Jahp, and her two grandchildren Abigail and Nicholas Jahp. Her family would like to also thank Vitas Hospice for their compassion and caring and the Ottawa Pavilion for the loving attention that they provided Justine while she was a resident there. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 3:00 P.M - 7:00 P.M. at Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543. She will lie in state on Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021, at Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ, from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. prior to services at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Bristol, IL. Memorials in Justine's name may be made to the Yorkville Public Library, the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ, or the Alzheimer's Association.
