Marell E. Schmidt, age 82, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born February 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Chester and Ethel nee Burns Sims.

Marell was known for her vivacious spirit and her passion for life. A huge bingo fan, she spent countless evenings calling numbers at the Oswego Senior Center, a place where she created countless friendships and memories. Her enthusiasm for the game was matched only by her love for the people around her. Marell's laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving children Chris Schmidt, David Schmidt, Paula (Al) Swanson, grandchildren Nicole (Nick) Johnson, Kyle Swanson, great-granddaughter Ellie and great-grandson Chace, brother Ken Sims and grand-puppy Millie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Milton C. Schmidt.

Cremation was performed in accordance with Marell's wishes. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603. Arrangements are entrusted to DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
