Manuel Ayala, Sr., age 64, of Aurora, IL, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in California. He was born October 30, 1956 in Arizona, the son of Jose and Antonia Martinez Ayala. Manuel proudly served his country in the US Army as a Private First Class from 1974 to 1976. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Manuel worked over 40 years as an Ironworker with Local # 393. In his spare time he enjoyed coaching softball and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Aurora, IL and taught catechism classes for 14 years. He is survived by wife of 47 years Elva Ayala, mother Antonia Ayala, children Michelle Ayala, Manuel (Kristyn) Ayala, Jr., grandchildren Andrew, DeShaun, Meara, CJ, Manuel Ayala, III, Charlee Ayala, great-grandchildren Malakai, Eli and 11 brothers. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Francisco Ayala. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, 414 N. River Street, Montgomery, IL 60538.
