It is with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Lynn A. Gramme, who departed this world on March 14, 2026, just shy of her 80th birthday. Lynn was born on March 25, 1946, in the charming town of Aurora, Illinois, to James and Lizetta (nee Plant) Leedom. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose kindness and generosity touched all who were blessed to know her. Lynn was a beacon of love and strength for her family and community. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, her son-in-law John McCleary, and her precious great-granddaughter Raegan Lynn Curry.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gordon Gramme, with whom she built a beautiful life and shared countless memories over many decades of marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Suzette "Zetti" Gramme and Jennifer McCleary, who carry forward Lynn's legacy of warmth and compassion. Lynn found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Allie (Jonny) Maye, Chloe (Cordero) Dickey, Jake (Maddi) Fitzpatrick, and Jessica (James) Curry, and as a great-grandmother to Amelia "Mimi", Olliver, and Piper Maye; Cecilia, Celina, and Carmela Dickey; Serenity Fitzpatrick, and one soon-to-arrive. Jordan and Remi Curry.
She cherished every moment spent with them, often found amidst her vibrant flower beds, where she cultivated not only plants but also lasting memories and bonds that will forever bloom in their hearts. Professionally, Lynn was a trailblazer, owning and operating Lynn's Painting and Decorating for 25 successful years. Her dedication to her craft and her impeccable attention to detail left a mark on countless homes and hearts, making spaces more beautiful and lives a little brighter. Lynn was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Her faith was an anchor that guided her through life's challenges and joys alike. Lynn's true passion lay in her garden and her family. Her flower beds were a testament to her love of nature, and her greatest delight was spending time surrounded by her loved ones, particularly her great-grandchildren, whose laughter and innocence brought her immense joy. Lynn's memory will be lovingly cherished by her sister, Kathy Wall, and her brother, Craig (Pinkey) Leedom, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who knew her as a source of unwavering love and support. As we gather to celebrate Lynn's life, let us remember her spirit of generosity, her nurturing nature, and her boundless love for her family and community.
She leaves behind a legacy of grace and strength, a garden of love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she touched. Rest in peace, dear Lynn, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
