Lynn E. Grady.

The family regretfully announces the passing of their cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother, Lynn E. Grady, aged 84, of Serena, Illinois, who peacefully departed this life on September 5, 2024.

Lynn was born on October 2, 1939, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late Leo and Floye (née Nelson) Grady. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and honorably served in the United States Army. Lynn found solace in nature, possessing a particular fondness for the woods on the farm where he resided. Blessed with one of those rare, brilliant minds, Lynn would spend hours taking things apart just to understand how they work. He made an impact on everyone he met and will be mourned deeply.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Debra J. (née Buczkowski) Grady. He was the father of Jeff Grady, Patricia (Kenny Lair) Edwards, and Jim (Amie), Bob, and Bill (Jennifer) Schrader. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jessica (Xavier) Gingerevans, Austin Grady, Joseph Edwards Jr. (Miranda), David Grady, Ashley Edwards, Steven Lair, Gregory Breese, Delilah Hart, Joe, Max, Devin, Taylor Schrader, and Marissa Cook; his great-grandchildren: Enzo and Octavia Wilcox, Jessalynn and Novan Gingerevans; his sister, Leila Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held for Lynn on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until time of service 1:00 P.M. at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home 333 W. Church Street Sheridan, IL 60551. Interment will follow at West Serena Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army.

Lynn will be carried to rest by pall bearers, Xavier Gingerevans, Kenny Lair, Austin and David Grady, Jim, Bob, Bill, and Joe Schrader. Honorary pall bearers Jon, Nick, and Ben Dolder and Kevin Brown.
