Lorraine F. Kwik, 90, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away after a short illness on August 4, 2021.
Lorraine was born January 30, 1931, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the daughter of late Mary and Stephan Barbarich. She was the oldest of 2 siblings.
Lorraine graduated from high school in 1949. She dated the boy down the street enjoying their dates at the Muny Opera and fishing in the Mississippi River. Lorraine married her childhood sweetheart, Edward R. Kwik in 1951 in Saint Louis while Edward was on a furlough from the Korean War.
Lorraine and Edward moved to Hoffman Estates, Illinois in 1968 raising their two daughters there. Her daughters fondly remember lunches at the Palmer House, having Scrabble competitions and going with her to her favorite musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Drury Lane. Lorraine and Edward retired to Sun City West, Arizona in 1996. Lorraine was an active member of Prince of Peace Church and Our Lady's Guild. Edward preceded her in death June 6, 2000.
Lorraine moved back to Illinois and settled in Oswego. She was an active member of her community and of St. Anne Catholic Church. She served as an eucharistic minister, usher, and assisted with funeral luncheons. She also was an active member of the Senior Center of Oswego, answering phones, assisting with Holiday Craft Fairs and luncheons.
Lorraine was a homemaker however she worked a variety of jobs after her children were older. She was a crossing guard, school bus driver, warehouse worker, and CCD assistant. Her favorite position was working with Edward in their own shoe business at the Fox Valley mall for 10 years.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Steven Swanson of Moorpark, CA; daughter Kathy Kwik of Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Ashley Swanson of Germantown, MD, Erik Swanson (fiancé Amy) of Waco, TX, Ryan Swanson (fiancé Jana) of Moorpark, CA; and sister, Dorothy Barbarich of Saint Louis, MO and many loving extended family.

Burial will take place alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
