Loren Robert Smith, age 98, of Oswego, IL died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born November 13, 1920 in Clay City, IL the son of the late Charles and Ethel nee McKee Smith. He served his country honorably with the US Army during World War II. He had held various positions within AT&T prior to his retirement. He was a lifelong avid Chicago Cub fan. He was a very active member of St Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. He is survived by his daughter Barbara (Rod) Boeker of Elgin, IL, two grandchildren Anne (Timothy) Archer of Shorewood, IL, John (Kelsi) Boeker of Sycamore, IL, five great grandchildren Adelai, Benjamin, Charlotte, Conner and Hailee. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years Norma nee Gleason Smith, two sisters Blanche Leininger, Marie Davidson, two brothers Keith Smith and Rex Harris. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL.
