With DEEP LOVE we announce Lilian Bertha MacDonald Becerra Perez returned home October 10th, 2026.

She is survived and MISSED DEARLY by her husband Frank (Franco) and her children Jacqueline and Francis. She was a beloved mom, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

Born in Guadalajara on June 28th, 1964, she was raised up by her true hometown, the paradise Puerto Vallarta.

As a child (and adult) she was curious, sweet, sociable, and incredibly playful. She loved paletas de mango and cocadas. She was incredibly intelligent and loved learning. She loved being involved and chased after her older siblings who kept a fast pace; she kept at their heels. She was determined and brave.

The jungle was her playground. The river her bike paths ("I never learned to ride a bike because I knew how to swim"), the ocean her youth haven. With siblings and friends, she swam out far into the water, until people on the beach looked like ants. She floated on her back with no fear, taking in the sky. She understood her fragilidad; she understood these moments were gifts.

After days of swimming, she picked up pasteles via boat drive thru style, and ate them on Playa Las Ánimas. She walked the Malecón and enjoyed live music, tacos (sin cebolla) and aguas frescas; the ocean always just beyond.

A picara; a true vagabond, she loved travel, discovering wonders and appreciating other cultures, peoples and opportunities.

The city of Chicago called to her; it is here she met and married the love of her life, her Franco. A fated union of hearts and minds, together they forged a life built from a mutual desire: they wanted to be a family.

Becoming a mother came natural to Lilian. She was a mother to many before bringing her own children into the world. She gave generously, her time and her ear; the kind of listening that made people feel seen and truly understood. She was the confidant of many people; encouraging and supportive, sometimes tough, always truthful.

She worked hard and took on challenges with wit and confidence. She built from scratch and transformed her abilities when life demanded. She was a very successful person. She was a translator of love and built bridges across people and worlds. Everything she touched was made more alive. Every project she was a part of, both professional and personal, had a piece of her heart in it.

A lover of music, she loved singing and reading lyrics. She felt the music; she could never resist closing her eyes and dancing with herself. She loved watching and going to the movies, both alone and with her family. She loved popcorn and escaping into the stories onscreen. She loved talking about movies and had precise insight. She loved the smell of coffee and the feel of cotton sheets.

A rule breaker. She lived valiantly. A cycle destroyer. She loved fiercely. A proud mom. She would do absolutely anything for her kids. She loved and found strength in her husband.

She was the beacon in many lives, and the heart of the body of her family. We will always feel robbed. She wanted happiness for us, and we are glad her body is no longer suffering. Her soul lives in the hearts of everybody she loved. She was a protector. She was the best mom in the world. She was the bravest woman we've ever known. Her soul is forever. She is legendary.

We love you mommy mosa.
