Licetta Oreby "Lisa" McKittrick, 93, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at her home. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark to ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Karen Hermar Ottomine Brigitte (Jensen) and Hans Olaf Hansen, Lisa emigrated to the U.S. in 1955. In October of 1960 she married Max McKittrick, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Licetta worked as an accountant for Caterpillar for many years before her retirement. She raised four children, and was a proud mother and even prouder grandmother and great grandmother. Lisa enjoyed dual citizenship in the U.S. and Denmark, was a world traveler and returned to her Copenhagen home and family as often as she could. She made yearly trips to her beloved Spain where she had many friends. Lisa had the mind of an engineer, a unique inventive nature and a keen interest in science and the night sky. She loved gemstones and enjoyed making jewelry for family and friends. She was a fast friend and had friends from all walks of life. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max McKittrick, passed away in 2002, and her parents. She is survived by her four children: Bendte (the late Johnny Haaning Nielson) Sindhoj of Copenhagen, Denmark, Michael (Barbara) McKittrick of Batavia, IL, Deborah K. (Mike Staab) McKittrick of Ankeny, IA, and Linda A. (Tim) Gedemer of CA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Daniel (Christina Johnson) Sindhoj, Diana (Kasper Gjerum-Knudsen) Sindhoj Nielsen, Max and Dane McKittrick, Chance (Anna), Lauren, Noah, Hunter and Jacob Staab, and Mason Gedemer and her great-grandchildren: Marc Sindhoj, Elliot Scheldt Sinhoj, Emily, Eli, and Emil Sinhoj Gjerum-Knudsen, and Beau, Miya, and Briar Staab. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 18, from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 S. Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL 60543.
