Lewis Richard Hilliard, 76, of Sandwich passed Tuesday afternoon April 18, 2017 at his home. Lewis was born January 23, 1941 in Millington to Hershel & Doris (Courtright) Hilliard. He served in the US Army from October 1963 until September 1965. He was joined in marriage to Sharon Blue May 5, 1966 at the Millington United Methodist Church. He had worked for 6 years at Federal Huber in Plano then for the Richard Wilcox Co. He worked at All-Steel in Montgomery as an inventory analyst for 26 years, until the plant closed in the late 1990's. His last 8 years of employment before retirement was for the Dunlee Co. in Aurora. Lewis & Sharon loved to travel all-through their 50 years of marriage. Among his great joys in life was spending time with his loving family, friends golfing, fishing and going to car shows with his sons. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his two sons, Keith Hilliard of Flatwoods, KY., Donald (Ashley) Hilliard of Sandwich; his two brothers, Harold (Katie) Hilliard of Flora, IL., Dennis (Natalie) Hilliard of Creole Springs, IL. and his sister, Mildred (Bob) Grubb of Flora, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
