Leo Eugene Mooney. 49, of New River, AZ formerly of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Sonora Emergency Center in Phoenix, AZ. He was born July 14, 1966 in Aurora, IL. He was a member of the Class of 1984 of Oswego Community High School and then continued onto Waubonsee Community College, prior to moving to Arizona. Leo is survived by his parents Robert L and Delores R nee Delaney Mooney of Oswego, IL, three sisters Diane Mooney of Montgomery, IL, Carolyn O'Meara of Oswego, IL, Teresa (Scott) Slapak of Wheaton, IL, a brother William Mooney of Chandler, AZ and a nephew Aidan O'Meara. Leo loved nature and enjoyed everything outside. He loved his gardens and could make anything grow. With his creativity and ingenuity, Leo could build or make anything work. He traveled the world with his bands and had many interesting stories. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Rd Oswego, IL. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL. Burial will take place at Pearce Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
