Passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Through the course of his life, he donated several gallons of blood to the Illinois blood institute.
He served in the us army spending most of his enlistment stationed in Germany and enjoyed sharing stories with his family about his adventures while stationed overseas.
He retired from caterpillar as a welder after 33 years. Then moved onto a few other welding jobs before finishing his career with car quest. Finally retiring permanently in 2020.

Father to many, raising his 2 beloved daughters and helping raise 4 of his grandchildren and 1 of his 5 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Pat Burgner, 2 daughters Sandy Ryder and Brenda Williams, 4 grandchildren David Williams, Michael Burgner, Angela Williams, Sarah (Justin) Morrow, 5 great grandchildren Lynna (Ethan), Annabelle, Abigail, Charlotte, and Evangeline, and many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, and son-in-law Al Williams.
Inurnment will be at River Hills Memorial Park on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. Military rights will be accorded. Arrangements are under the personal care of Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543.
