LaVon Lee Christensen age 84, of Oswego, IL, at rest peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born December 13, 1937 the son of the late Harry and Stella (Nee Drought) Christensen. LaVon was a graduate of West Aurora High School Class of 1957. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an archery teacher. He was a member of Raven Masonic Lodge #303, Scottish Rite – 32nd degree, Medinah Shriners, Aurora Area Shrine Club and Sandwich Sportsman Club. LaVon is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Irene T. (Nee Rich) Christensen, his son, Tom (Paula) Christensen, his step-children, William (Rochel) Melka, Therese (Steve) DeTolla, Charles (Jeanette) Melka and son-in-law John Bootz. He was a proud Grandfather of 13 and Great-Grandfather of 11. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Vonda Bootz, his brother, Don Christensen and his sister, Marie. Family and Friends may gather for a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, with Father Dan Stempora officiating.
