Krista (Katzenberger) Rodino of Yorkville died peacefully on February 13, 2024, surrounded by family, at the age of 59 after a battle with cancer.

Krista was born in Midlothian, Illinois on April 28th, 1964. She was the fourth child of Monica and John "Jack" Katzenberger.

Krista loved being a mother more than anything, and encouraged her daughters to be brave, bold, and fierce. Their success in life and strong relationship filled her love tank.

Krista was a lifelong educator and mentor to many. She worked for 16 years at Southbury Elementary in Oswego and 21 years at the Oswegoland Park District, where she was beloved by students and staff alike. She had a natural ability for understanding and nurturing the needs of children of all ages.

Krista loved her family deeply (almost as much as she loved the Chicago Cubs), had a sharp wit, and always kept her friends and family laughing. "Super Aunt Krista", as she was known to her nieces and nephews, will be missed by her loved ones for her adept ability to balance giving tough love while still being their strongest advocate. Her love was big and unending for her family and friends.

Krista was preceded in death by her father Jack Katzenberger and brother-in-law Scott Gifford.

She is survived by her daughters Anne Rodino (Tom Delafield) and Bridget Brazeau (Colin), her mother Monica Katzenberger, as well as her siblings Julie, Joe (Amy), Janet (Rich), Mark (Mona), Dan (Katy), Paul, Lisa (Mike), along with 16 nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Krista will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 12:00 NOON until time of funeral services 4:00 P.M. at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
