Obituary was lovingly written by his family.

Kirk William Randles, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 8th, in Batavia, after a long illness.

Kirk was born on November 20, 1942, in Sandwich, Illinois to Bill and Harriet Kirkpatrick Randles. He grew up in Yorkville and attended Yorkville High School, where he played basketball for the Foxes. He continued his basketball career at Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington. He was also a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at IWU, graduating in 1964.

Kirk married his childhood sweetheart, Beth Hayden Randles. They were longtime residents and active members of the community in Oswego for 50 years. Kirk served on the Oswego School Board and was a member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church. In later years, Kirk and Beth enjoyed spending winters with friends in Tucson, Arizona.

Kirk carried his love of sports into his career, becoming a successful businessman in the sporting goods industry. He enjoyed playing tennis and learned to appreciate the game of golf. As a passionate sports fan, his favorite times were spent gathering with family and friends to cheer on the U of I Illini and Chicago Bears. Kirk was a dedicated father and grandfather, who loved attending all of his children's and grandchildren's sporting and extracurricular events.

Kirk is survived by his dear wife of 62 years, Beth, and his loving sister, Joanne Fulkerson (George Martinelli). He was the devoted father of three children. He is survived by daughters Julie Frieders (Gene) and Pam Anderson (Scott) and was preceded in death by his son, William Randles.

Kirk took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of his six beloved grandchildren: Chelsey Neumann (Tim), Ali Anderson, MacKenzie Frieders, Claire Anderson, Michael Frieders and Renee Randles. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
