Kenneth Joseph Perry Lequire of Tavares Florida and formerly of Oswego IL passed away on Sunday, September 17th surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 4th, 1935 in Townsend TN to Columbus and Anna Lequire. At the age of 17, he moved north to Aurora IL and went to work for Barber Greene Company, where he remained for the next 37 years. He met Joy Hamm in the winter of 1955 and they wed the following October. They spent the next 64 years together, first in Oswego IL and then in Leesburg FL.

He is survived by his daughter Christa Lequire of Tavares FL, granddaughter Brianna Prior of St. Charles IL, grandson Kent Santiago-Lequire of Downers Grove IL, and great-grandson, Dylan Prior.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy in 2021, his parents Columbus Lequire and Anna Scroggins, his father-in-law Howard Hamm and mother-in-law Anna Hamm, and his brother Wayne Lequire.

He and Joy traveled frequently during their life together and spent many Octobers in Maui and Oahu, Hawaii. Their last two trips were to Alaska and Hawaii. Ken was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army. Ken and Joy enjoyed attending car shows in both Illinois and Florida in their 1969 Ford Mustang convertible. They also attended many Coca Cola conventions over the years in search of more memorabilia for Joy's collection.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 Noon at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY,1801 South Douglas Rd, Oswego IL.

Burial with Military Honors follow at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.
