Kenneth John "Ken" Flerick, age 63, of Oswego, IL left this earth and was welcomed into heaven on Friday, November 13, 2020.
Ken was born August 6, 1957 in Berwyn, IL to Armella (Lewicki) and Emil Flerick.
He attended Saint Laurence High School and later earned his Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. Shortly after graduating college he married his former wife, Peggy (Hartle) Flerick in 1981 and were married for 37 years. Ken and Peggy went on to have three daughters that he absolutely adored. There was nothing that came before his children and grandkids. Ken worked for Chase bank for over 40 years, where he developed many good friends over his many years of service. He was the biggest Chicago Sports fan. Baseball being his favorite, he went on to continue to play 16" softball through First National Bank in Chicago as an adult on the Brewers and Naturals winning the 1988 USSSA State Championship.
He loved the White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and would even root for the Cubs sometimes (mostly to watch them lose). No matter the sport, he loved it all. Ken loved to go fishing, especially with his family.
Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Armella Flerick.
He leaves behind 3 beautiful daughters. Nicole Flerick of Oswego, Andria (Carl) Corlew of Joliet, and Jacqueline (Kyle) Carmody of St. Charles. Along with his 7 grandchildren, Colton, Corbin, Charlie, Joelle Carmody, and Makena, Addison, and Declan (along with one on the way) Corlew. His brother Paul (Theresa Lloyd) Flerick, and his father Emil Flerick. His Aunt Pearl (Madlener), Cousin Jim (Tina) Madlener and their kids (Taylor, Alysa, Justin). Ken was also a beloved Godfather, Uncle "Prick- to those that get it" to many nieces and nephews.
Due to current restrictions involving Covid-19 there will be a private ceremony for immediate family only.
Planned for next Spring, there will be a Celebration of Life event held for all those who knew or knew of Ken. He mentioned he would want things casual. With that, we plan to include all the things that were a part of his life as well as Ken's favorites. Baseball, Bears, bags, family, and friends. As Opening Day for baseball approaches, we will update with further details.
