Jerry E. Kember, 77, of Serena died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Kishwaukee Hospital with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born May 13, 1937 in Sandwich to Charles E. & Shirley (Brandenburg) Kember. He married Wanda (Bailey) June 14, 1959 at the Serena United Methodist Church. Jerry had been a farmer all his life and had worked out of Laborers Union Local #393 in Marseilles. He had served on the Serena Unit #2 School Board for 8 years and as a trustee on the Serena Twp. Board for 10 years. He was a brother of Marseilles Masonic Lodge #417 AF & AM. He is survived by his wife Wanda; his three daughters, Janet (Barry) Brannan of Harding, Kathy (Brad) Erickson of Sheridan, Susan (John) Morahn of Sheridan; his son, Jeffrey E. (Amy) Kember of Serena; eleven grandchildren; Alana Koster, Calla Brannan, Tanya (Steve) Polkowski, Blair (Kerry) Carlson, Joshua E. Morahn, Tyler A. Morahn, Franki Kember, Maddie Kember, Olivia Kember, Mason Kember, Austin Kember; four great grandchildren; Kinslee Koster, Sylvia Koster, Lyla Carlson, Cailyb Kember; a sister, Jean Kember of Greensboro, NC and a brother, Robert (Barbara) Kember of Serena. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Mitch Nelson Morahn. Visitation will be held starting at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Cynthia Zolk at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20th at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. In Sheridan. Interment will be at the West Serena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua E. Morahn, Tyler A. Morahn, Kerry Carlson, Steve Polkowski, Mason Kember and Steve Hougsted.
