Karol Jean (Haag) Bundy of Minooka, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning surrounded by family during her last days. She was born and raised in Aurora, IL, and raised her family in Plainfield, Illinois.
Karol found the love of her life in Dean Bundy, with whom she shared a wonderful and adventurous marriage spanning decades. Together they built a country home filled with love, laughter, hard work - with an abundance of motorcycles, horses and family pets.
Karol was a strong matriarch, lovingly survived by her husband Dean, and seven children: Mark (Jan), Kelly (Jamie), Wendi (Maureen), Bobbi, Deana (Wes), Diana (Rich), and Marji (Chris). She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride.
Karol dedicated much of her life to serving both her family and her community. She was an active volunteer with Kendall County 4-H and the Kendall County Fair Board. Throughout her life, Karol embraced adventure. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and horses, and never shied away from trying something new. She was a prolific cook whose meals brought everyone to her table, and Karol was an incredibly gifted seamstress whose talents created countless treasured keepsakes for family and friends.
She worked for the Kendall County Sheriff's Department and the Kendall County State's Attorney's office and completed her work as the Supervisor of Transportation at the Oswego School District. Karol loved turquoise jewelry, boxer dogs, Harley Davidson T-shirts, the color purple, Captain Morgan & diet coke, and the 4th of July; but most of all, she loved Dean . . . and the family they raised together. She will truly be missed.
Funeral services celebrating Karol's life will be held on Saturday, August 1st at Au Sable Grove Presbyterian Church in Yorkville, IL. Visitation is from 1 to 3 pm with funeral service immediately following. Burial at Aux Sable Grove Naausay Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kendall County 4H Foundation, by calling 815-735- 0834.
