Karen A. Tharp, age 65, of Naperville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born June 9, 1951 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Arlene nee Benson Stenstrom. Karen was a 1969 graduate of Downers Grove South High School. She attended the Hinsdale Covenant Church in Hinsdale, IL. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother Arlene Stenstrom of Sun City West, AZ, husband of 44 years Larry Tharp of Naperville, IL, children David (Stacey) Tharp of Plainfield, IL, Lisa (Kevin) Miles of Plainfield, IL, grandchildren Maddy & Hayley Tharp, Elena & Elliott Miles all at home and brothers Gary (Kirstin) Stenstrom of Libertyville, IL and Scott (Dana) Stenstrom of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her father Virgil Stenstrom. A memorial service will take place at a future time. Memorials in Karen's memory may be made to any charity.
