Karen Sue Frasz, 78, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2025, after a previous battle with lung cancer. She was born on August 17, 1946, to the late Adrian and Florence Sargent of Mishawaka, IN. Karen lived a life filled with hard work, love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Karen was the beloved wife of the late Richard "Big Rich" Frasz, who passed away in 2005. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a love that lasted a lifetime. Karen is survived by her two cherished children, Kimmy, husband Andy, Richie, and her precious cat Elvis, who were all the light of her life. Karen worked hard to provide for her family. Her life was filled with an abundance of love, and that was all she needed. She was the fun and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Sophia, Ava, Lincoln, Paige, Skylar, and Gavin, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Karen is survived by sister, Marsha, sister Kathryn and her husband Mike, sister-in-law Dolores and many cousins, nieces, and nephews, with whom she enjoyed visiting and playing Euchre, creating countless memories around the card table. After moving to Oswego, Illinois, Karen became a cashier and greeter at the Meijer in Oswego, where she became a beloved fixture. Her co-workers and customers lovingly nicknamed her "Crazy Karen" for her infectious spunk, no-nonsense attitude, and wonderful sense of humor.

Karen's warmth and genuine care for others made her a favorite among all who encountered her. After retiring from Meijer in 2023, she continued to nurture the friendships she had formed, gathering monthly with her "Meijer Group" to maintain the bonds that meant so much to her. Karen was an active member of St. Anne's Church in Oswego, where she formed another close- knit group of friends who became like family to her. If you were fortunate enough to know Karen, you knew the depth of love she carried in her heart. She was a woman who touched lives through her kindness, her humor, and her genuine care for others. Karen was especially proud of her children's careers in education and their work with people with intellectual disabilities, reflecting her compassionate spirit and valuable work ethic. Karen cherished her life in the Pineridge community, where she was surrounded by friends who all looked out for one another. This sense of community and mutual care was something she treasured deeply.
