June Dorothy Dannenberg, 91, of rural Newark passed Friday morning October 5, 2018 at her home. June was born June 14, 1927 in Aurora to Frank & Genevieve (Roach) Vickroy. She was joined in marriage to Ralph William Dannenberg on February 10, 1949 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora. She was a nursing graduate of the St. Charles Hospital School of Nursing and had worked all her adult life as a Registered Nurse at the Copley Hospital, the office of Dr. Porter in Aurora and retired from the Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion. She was a faithful member of the Fox River Lutheran Church, a member of the LaSalle County Farm Bureau but the focus of her life was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter. She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Dolores) Dannenberg of Sheridan, Gerald (Andrea) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, WI; seven grandchildren, Marc (Kelly) Dannenberg of Newark, Brent (Sandra) Dannenberg of Leland, Bruce (Kristi) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Daniel (Ashley) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Peter (Amana) Dannenberg of Sandwich, Anastasia Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Laurianna Dannenberg of Mineral Point; thirteen great grandchildren, Calyn (Rafael JR) DeHonor, Courtney, Zane, McKena, Gavin, Robbie, Hailee Fae, Isabella, Jacob, Sawyer, Tucker, Max, Wyatt Dannenberg; her great-great granddaughter, Adalyn DeHonor; her sister, Rita Adams of Virginia, a brother, Tom (Joanne) Vickroy of Aurora, her sister-in-law Ester Thom of Aurora and Ashley Conrad a dear young lady that became family. June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph Dannenberg, a brother, Richard Vickroy, brother-in-laws Dick Thom, Don Adams and Stan Gramstad and a sister-in-law Francis Gramstad Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 8th at the Fox River Lutheran Church, 2785 E. U.S. Rt. 52, Sheridan, IL, 60551. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Kevin Garner officiating. Interment will be at the Fox River Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marc Dannenberg, Brent Dannenberg, Bruce Dannenberg, Daniel Dannenberg, Peter Dannenberg Derek Behrens and Michael Herring.
