Joseph John Wrobel, aged 74, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded in love by his wife and daughters on January 17,2025. Joe was Born on March 5, 1950, in Chicago Illinois to the late Eugene "Iggy" and Arlene (Zeschke) Wrobel of Chicago, Illinois.

Joe was a graduate of Kelly High School, class of 1968 and after graduation, attended Roosevelt University.

After receiving his degree, he began his career in an accounting firm. He left there to work at Sears Roebuck Corporate office where he met the love of his life, Lynn. They were a match made in heaven, married in 1973 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage, during which they raised 2 daughters who blessed him with his 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, all of whom he adored.

Joe was a hard worker and a provider for his family, he was never afraid to reinvent himself to change with the times. The early stages of his career were dedicated to various paper companies in Illinois, beginning at Fort Dearborn Paper Company, and next as an executive at The Paper Group where he had many fond memories. He was recruited to run various other paper companies throughout the Midwest and South & eventually, it brought him an opportunity to relocate to Pennsylvania in 1990 where they put down their roots there for the next 26 years. Joe & Lynn moved so many times during their marriage, that the family joke became "The wallpaper looks dated & needs changing, must be time to move!" While in Pennsylvania, he decided to follow his true passion, computers. Joe changed careers completely in his early 40s and started working in IT. His brain was filled with so much data, he loved being able to work in a field where he could fulfill his true passion. He worked at many companies in IT as a consultant throughout the late 1990s, 2000s, and right until his retirement in 2022. He loved keeping his mind busy.

As a husband, father and "Poppy", Joe was a soft-spoken, patient and kind man. His family was always his #1 priority. He adored his wife & they were inseparable. They never went anywhere without each other, they embodied love, kindness and patience, thus the reason for their successful marriage. They loved spending time enjoying their favorite restaurants, golfing, watching their favorite shows & traveling the US and abroad. They were dedicated grandparents who loved attending sporting events of their oldest grandson & it was not unusual for Gigi & Poppy to pack up in a moment's notice and hit the road for a 12-hour car trip to visit the rest of the grandkids in Pennsylvania. In 2016, they decided to leave Pennsylvania on a permanent basis & move back to Illinois. It is firmly believed that the reason for the move was that in the nearly 30 years he lived in PA, the cheesesteak could never replace his Portillo's Chicago style polish sausage, White Castle sliders and chicken enchiladas at his favorite Mexican restaurants. Joe loved going on cruises with their friends and he loved how retirement allowed them the opportunity and freedom to travel overseas and see so many European destinations.

The traits that will be remembered & missed most about Joe, were his smile and awesome laugh/giggle. He was quiet, calm, sentimental and tears would well up in his eyes instantly when he was with his family that filled him with pride. He was never known to utter a negative word about anyone. He was a source of calmness, positivity and pure love. Joe will be missed by all that knew him, his genuine smile said it all, he lived a happy life.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn (Kraatz) Wrobel, of Aurora, Il; His daughter Heather (Tim) Brandstedt and grandson Ethan of Aurora, Il.; His daughter Meghan (Eric) Entenman and grandsons Reid, Collin & Taylor and his granddaughter, Blake of Harleysville, PA.; sister, Judy (Steve) Pajkos of Decatur, MI.; brother, Frank Wrobel of Palos Hills, IL.; sister, Mary (Stewart) McIntosh of Oak Lawn, IL. As well as his beloved nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Arlene Wrobel & his youngest brother, James "Jimmy" Wrobel & nephew TJ Slawinski.

Please join Joe's family for the celebration of his life on Sunday March 30th, 2025 at 12PM ET in Harleysville, PA.
