Joseph Stanley Malacina, age 83 years of Montgomery, IL passed away Friday
September 17, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 4, 1937, in Chicago, IL. the son of Joseph Michael
and Mary Ann (nee Tatar) Malacina.
Joseph worked as a director of buildings and grounds at Ravenswood Hospital. He
served his country proudly in the US Army, 82nd Airborne, serving a special assignment as an
arctic engineer in Greenland. He was a member of Village Bible Church of Sugar Grove, IL and
the Oswego Senior Center where he enjoyed Bean Bags and Pinochle. He also enjoyed playing
pool, photography, coaching soccer and researching family ancestry. We can't forget his love
for vanilla milkshakes!
Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan whom he married in 1959,
his children Jacqueline (Michael) Mueller of Elburn, IL, Janice Malacina of Pleasant Prairie, WI,
Joseph (Dailene) Malacina of Mauston, WI and Jill Malacina of Plano, IL;
seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Samantha, Shaela, Bradley, Journey, Roslyn; five great-
grandchildren, Jethro, Emma, Wyatt, Rylee and Braxton, his sister-in-law Joyce Malacina and
cousin Ronald (Mary Ann) Tater.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Malacina.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Oswego American Legion Post 675, Oswego, IL 60543 on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
