John Roger Schaefer, age 61, of Oswego, IL died unexpectedly on October 5, 2023 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born December 12, 1961 in Aurora, IL.

John loved music, tried his best at the piano and saxophone. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Cubs and Bears and would always call his dad and reminisce about the games.

He loved his Family and every gathering especially birthday parties where he could show off his voice. He was a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend.

He leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his father Gary Schaefer, 4 sisters Linda Beyer, Debbi (Rickey) Wilson, Brenda (Dan) Rompf, Jennifer Rogers, brother Gary (Nyah) Schaefer and 19 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marlene Schaefer siblings Cathy and Scott and grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church, 552 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL. Cremation took place followed by burial of the cremains at Lincoln Memorial Park in Oswego, IL.
