John Albert Navis, age 74, beloved husband of Irene, met Jesus face to face surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 9, 2018. He courageously faced cancer for nine months, strong in his faith until the end.
John was born in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands and immigrated to the U.S in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart Irene on June 12, 1965. After graduating from Calvin College in 1967, he served in the U.S Army, including a year in Vietnam for which he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.
For 36 years he was President of Janin Group Inc, a company he founded to provide innovative medical products, particularly in the nephrology field. He obtained multiple patents, and his products have saved and continue to save lives around the world. John was also a proud member of New Life Church of Yorkville for the past nine years.
His most important legacy is his faith walk that he modeled for all who knew him, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, five children, Dori (Chris) Dinsmore of Evanston, IL; Carol (Stephen) Rowe of Fayetteville, AR; Anna Navis of Wheaton, IL; Will (Elizabeth) Navis of St. Charles; Peter (Shelley) Navis of Fort Atkinson, WI; thirteen grandchildren, Gabrielle and Gwen Dinsmore; Samuel, John, Luke, Matthew, David, and Levi Rowe; John, Jackson, and Caden Navis, Rachel and Michael Navis; sisters, Deannie Faber, Wilma Straight and one brother Richard Navis.
