John R. DeCillo, 68, passed away on January 14, 2016 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born November 12, 1947 in Chicago, the son of Anthony J. and Sophie nee Majewski DeCillo. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in Vietnam working as an aircraft mechanic. He later worked for Midway Airlines as an A&P Mechanic before he retired. John married Karen Bajorek on October 14, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego and the VFW Post # 7452 in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife Karen, sister-in-law Charlotte DeCillo, sister-in-law Shirley (Thomas) Bonk, sister-in-law Donna Nickeas, brother-in-law Thomas (Louise) Bajorek, and many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Anthony DeCillo, and a sister Mary (Fred) Marek, and brother-in-law John Nickeas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 East 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804. Visitation will be on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 Douglas Road, Oswego, Illinois 60543. A funeral Service will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
