John "Jack" Robert Boyer Sr. of Sheridan died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home. Jack was born October 23, 1942 in Michigan City, Indiana to Howard Daniel & Daisy Mae (Hardwick) Boyer. He had served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1962 and had worked in maintenance at the Loyola University Medical Center before retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Somonauk, Sandwich Meteor Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #283 and had been a longtime camper at Rolling Oaks Campground. He is survived by a son, John Robert Boyer Jr. of Mt. Airy, MD.; a daughter, Merrie Lynn Boyer of Justice, IL.; his spouse Lorri Boyer of Sheridan; four grandchildren; Joshua Daniel Boyer, Jonah Nicholas Boyer, Rhianna Boyer and Hannah Elizabeth Boyer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Daniel William Boyer. A gathering of family & friends will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25 th with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Somonauk with Pastor William Weidenbach officiating.
