JOEL B. OLSON September 21, 1960 - October 30, 2017 Joel Bradley Olson, 57, of Newark died Monday, October 30, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Joel was born September 21, 1960 in Joliet to Mervin & Lois Jean (Kern) Olson. He married Cindy Schneider November 10, 2009 in Newark. Joel had operated a lawn & garden equipment sales and service in Newark for many years. He is survived by his wife Cindy; his three children, Erik Olson of Ottawa, Hannah (Thomas) Baxter of Sheridan, Ian Olson of Sandwich; a grandson, Thomas Baxter; two brothers, Jeff Olson of Nix, MO and Trygve Olson of Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jason Olson. A gathering of family & friends will start at 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 3rd with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. at the Newark Lutheran Church with Pastor Luke Emerson officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family. Cremation services were accorded the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home in Newark.
