Jess Ross "Tony" Rugg, age 85, of Oswego, IL passed away peacefully on November 20, 2016 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born July 3, 1931 in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Harry and Esther nee Rees Rugg. Tony proudly served his country in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Tony worked at Fermilab for nine years and Illinois Bell for 35 years. In his spare time, Tony loved traveling. He visited 42 countries throughout 6 continents mostly with a group of friends called the Rinky Dinks. He obtained his private pilot's license and enjoyed all aspects of aviation. He was an avid sports fan and was happy to live long enough to witness the Cubs win the World Series. Survived by his wife of 63 years Elaine Glassburner Rugg of Oswego, IL, children Jeff (Mary) Rugg of Montgomery, IL, Mark (Jodi) Rugg of Aurora, IL, Dana (Paul) Schwanz of Oswego, IL, grandchildren Benjamin (Nicole) Rugg of CA, Nathan (Anna) of China, Elizabeth Rugg of Chicago, Caleb (Joanna) Rugg of Chicago, Jessica & Jason Rugg of Aurora, IL, Grace & Katie Schwanz of Oswego, IL, great-grandchildren Evie, Kinley & Rylinn Rugg of CA, Aaron, Andrew, Alexander & Abigail Rugg of China, sister Eileen Faris of, FL, sister-in-law Wilma Eaton & brother-in-law Wayne Glassburner both of TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother Hettie Rugg and a son Randy Rugg. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 1:00 PM until a memorial service at 4:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S.
